Using icon's and graphics when taking notes, or creating flip-charts in workshops or the classroom can really help with memory retention. It engages the hearts and mind of people.

But many educators and trainers shy away from drawing. They have a limiting belief 

I can't draw...

I totally understand where you are coming from. This was me 9 years ago. I told myself this too. 

Until I proved myself wrong. I picked up pen and paper, and started drawing basic icons. 

Now I use this technique when taking notes, when facilitating workshops and on a larger scale when visual story telling. 

So let me take you through the journey of learning the basics.
